Ocean below in vibrant blue,
Waves crashing along the shoreline.
Rocks to rest, fish to eat,
The sun above with a bright shine.
The wind blows to aid my flight,
Up higher and higher I go.
Above the clouds with delight,
Diving and rising, to and fro.
How amazing that would be,
Adventure without a single word.
Never-ending freedom and sight,
The life I never had as a bird.
~ January Sadler
“And thus flowed the current of life. The seeds of the silverbell were converted into squirrel; and squirrels were converted into foxes. Everything edible, from mice and chipmunks to roots and berries and apples was converted into bear. And bear and his tracks are converted into wonder and adventure for man.” ~ Harvey Broome
