“The genius of the United States is not best or most in its executives or legislatures, nor in its ambassadors or authors or colleges, or churches, or parlors, nor even in its newspapers or inventors, but always most in the common people.” – Walt Whitman
Along with barns, I love abandoned/forgotten churches. These places have so much energy! Whether a person considers themselves religious, spiritual, or not, I don’t think one can deny that these buildings hold so much human emotion – love, fear, sadness, and hope.
