As I walked out along the Rio Grande Gorge, a favorite of mine to visit, I came across a cyclists who told me that big horn sheep were farther down the path about 1/2 a mile. This being my first chance to possibly get a photo of these beautiful creatures, I sped up my walking to an almost jog.
To my amazement, there were 5 sheep and 4 were males with large horns. As I was not the only one standing there in awe of these creatures, I tried my best to get a quick shot before they moved along. Their horns are beautiful but I certainly don’t want to see them up close. I was grateful for even this brief moment!
